Check in with first time teachers
Not only have freshman made it through their first year of high school, but so have four of Liberty’s newest staff. After four years of training, each of them dove back into high school with a renewed passion. That begs the question: what has it been like to return to high school as a teacher?

“Hi, and welcome to English! We’re going to be learning a new novel this year, and we’ll be doing it together.” You’ve probably heard some form of this sentiment before, but have you ever thought about why the curriculum seems to change so much? After talking to some of Liberty’s department heads and those working on the administrative side of things, we seem to have reached an answer.
DECA moves on to state
DECA Diamonds: Medalists from DECA’s area competiton in January smile after successfully completing their presentations. Members competed in a variety of events from case studies, role plays, to pre-planned written events. “It’s always nerve-racking after a role play because it’s so hard to tell whether I did well or poorly. During the awards session, I didn’t know if I would hear my name or not, and I was surprised and grateful to be able to qualify to state this year,” Haley Archer (11) said.
