Liberty Library Serves as Safe Haven for Students

Two large doors near the social studies hallway open every morning to the Liberty High School library, which houses hundreds of books from a variety of genres. When I arrive at school and get off the bus in the morning, I’m still only half awake, and I don’t want to start school yet. The cafeteria is just too loud for me in my current state, so I feel welcomed by the calm nature of the LHS library. Even though I don’t have much time before I have to go to class, I can come in and finish work or read a book for a few minutes to start my school day.

The library supplies a lot more than books, though. It provides a quiet place for studying. It allows students to immerse themselves in a world far away from Liberty through books. It gives them some much-needed peace and quiet throughout the chaotic school day.

Our librarian, Ms. Olsson, is always there to add to the experience of the library with her vast knowledge of literature and her caring attitude in helping students find the perfect books for them to read.

The many ways the LHS library contributes to the quality of student life seem to go unnoticed, so I want to thank the library for (almost) always being an option during the school day for students to spend a little time by themselves.
