Embark on a journey down the rabbit hole through this gossip-filled tea session with Alice (junior Aashna Sikka), the Queen of Hearts (senior Charlie Newton), the Mad Hatter (senior Alex Vovakes), the March Hare (senior Olivia Hill), the White Rabbit (senior Jocelyn Hood), and the Cheshire Cat (senior Callie Vaughan).

What’s the best food you’ve had in Wonderland so far?

• The best food I’ve had in Wonderland was the Drink Me potion. It doesn’t taste like poison but rather like cherry tart, custard, pineapple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast!

What do you think of the Queen of Hearts?

• Is she around? Can I say her name? The Queen of Hearts is, well, for lack of better words, terrifying. I don’t think it’s fair how all the card soldiers just have to listen to everything she does. I think somebody ought to speak up to the Queen of Hearts.

What’s the best adventure you had you’ve had so far in Wonderland?

• Every time I’ve eaten something, I’ve grown smaller or bigger. The idea of never knowing what’s going to happen next is really fun, like drinking a potion and then suddenly growing huge like a mountain, and then eating a cookie and becoming super tiny, to the point where I can talk to caterpillars being the same size as them.

Queen of Hearts 

Do you have a secret? 

• Not even my husband knows this. This is really embarrassing, because he’s like a freak. The Mad Hatter and I were friends growing up. There was this one day in the flower field where we were tormenting worms. And his hair just had this cute fuzz and I thought “Is this romance?” He looked at me with those wild eyes, and I felt it. Then we kissed, and I didn’t like it. I ran away then we never spoke of it again.

Why can’t you take off your hat?

• Because you said “take off your hat” and it’s not my hat. I’m a hatter. I sell hats. These aren’t my hats. They are hats that I sell to other people so I cannot take off “my hat”.

Have  you ever not had a hat on before?

• Never in my life. I’ve been a hatter since I’ve come to Wonderland. I’ve always had hats on my head, and I’ve always, never gone without one. You don’t want to talk about “the incident”.

What is your favorite type of hat?

• My favorite type of hat is the top hat, but not a black top hat. I prefer a green top hat or a blue top hat, or a yellow top hat or turquoise top hat.

Cheshire Cat

What species are you? Are you a normal cat?

• I don’t explain that to those who are not close to me. I’m very different from others.

Do you have a secret hiding spot in Wonderland?

• I like the ground. I like holes.

Are you there when you disappear?

• I’m always there. I’m always watching.

Why are you always smiling?

• I’m special that way because I know more than anybody else here. I’m smarter.

March Hare

What’s the difference between you and the white rabbit?

• I’m not running around late everywhere like how White Rabbit is always screaming, because I keep track of time. Good friends with time.

How did you and the Mad Hatter become friends?

• I don’t know. I just found him one day and we bonded over tea. I don’t quite remember. We’ve always been friends.

What do you think of Alice?

• She’s interesting but she doesn’t seem to have many manners, I’ve noticed. But she’s fun to talk to.

White Rabbit 

Do you like the Queen of Hearts?

• I cannot confirm or deny. She would have my head if I said no.

What is your role in a court trial?

• Reading crimes in a fun way. I enjoy a court case.

What is your goal in the Queen’s kingdom?

• Staying alive.
