Student Wage Reform
The big ticket issue for Liberty voters in 2020 is certain to be student salary reform moving forward. For too long student voices have gone unheard in labor reform discussions, and that has to end now. 2019 data from the Federation of Academic Real Compensation Enforcement (FARCE), student wages have stagnated at an unfair $0.00. Even with parent subsidization, that’s not even enough for the hardworking high schooler to afford guac at Chipotle every now and then. Student-led strikes have also been completely ignored by administrators, such as the “Senior Skip Day,” which, as many don’t know, was created to protest unfair compensation.
