BP Profile: The Average Kid

You awake at 6 AM on the dot to a loud, relaxing “BEEP. BEEP. BEEP” followed by the daily yelling of your family to change your alarm — but you’re too lazy to do so. Plus, it’s the clock’s default alarm, and there must have been a reason for that.

Then, you dress yourself in your daily blue jeans, white shirt and white Converse shoes. It’s an outfit that’s comfortable, practical, and has never done you wrong. You wear it every single day.

Your morning bowl of original Cheerios and milk never disappoints to satisfy your taste buds. Homemade waffles and gourmet omelets are completely unnecessary; a simple bowl of cheerios is all you need before a long day at school.

On your drive, you play the radio. “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran comes on and although you’ve heard it a thousand times before, you don’t change the station. The way he talks “for hours and hours about the sweet and the sour” is just too catchy.

Third period English class finds you analyzing Huck Finn. During the timed write you spend 30 minutes annotating a passage and brainstorming ideas, only to find yourself writing “Idk, society and stuff” on your paper and turning it in. Oh well, maybe next time.

Once home, your mom asks you to complete the chores you should have done last month. “I’ll get to it eventually”, you yell back as you throw yourself on to the couch and fall asleep until dinner time.

Your days might not be spent completing incredible academic or athletic feats, but at least you show up to school and do your homework (eventually).

Average kid, you’re one of us.
