What are teachers’ favorite genres and songs?

Mr. Matheny

“My favorite genre of music is probably near hip-hop or country songs with a Southern vibe. My favorite song at the moment has got to be Waxahatchee’s “Can’t Do Much” because it’s catchy and goes with the entire scope of the album, Saint Cloud.”

Mr. Level

“I love classic rock, but in high school, I liked ‘90s gangsta rap, so I still like it even though if I listen to what I liked then, I cringe while also nodding my head. My favorite song is “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd because it sounds so much like an ‘80s song.”

G

“My favorite genre is probably Indie Folk Rock. For my favorite songs, it’s too hard to pick just one song. I like a lot of newer artists, but some classics that have withstood the test of time are “Hey Jude” by the Beatles and “Learning to Fly” by Tom Petty.”

Mr. Kurtz

Mr. Kurtz: “I’m a sucker for pop, so my favorite song right now would have to be “Kill My Mind” by Louis Tomlinson because it is just a great pop song that appeals to everyone, and the way he sings the lyrics during the main verse is something I really love.”

Mrs. Fannon

“‘80s rock since it’s my pick-me-up music! And my favorite song, because it was my wedding song, I would say “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz because it has a sentimental feeling.”
