My letter of recommendation to you: thank your teachers
November 26, 2021
Seniors dreaming of acceptance to their top-choice school know what this college application season brings. For Liberty’s graduating class of 2022, the stress has begun: pouring every bit of their high school experiences and accomplishments into a perfect digital package.
But that application is not complete without one crucial element: a letter of recommendation. It’s a requirement for many colleges, and choosing a teacher to write this sacred document can be stressful. It must be someone you have a bond with; someone who will speak highly of you.
You muster up the courage to ask for this letter—walk into the room, politely ask, and then thank them profusely. Maybe you send a quick email instead. Or maybe you ask for it just days before it’s due.
Either way, your teacher will come through for you—and for the dozens of students asking the same. Teachers take their time to write individual letters that reflect the strengths of each student, and that’s no quick, mindless task.
It’s time to say a collective thanks to all the teachers who have spent hours of their workweek or weekend penning the perfect letter for hopeful applicants. Thank you, teachers, for these thoughtful letters of recommendation!
