Exponential Enjoyment

As Thanksgiving approaches, and school has been harder than ever for me, I am beginning to realize how thankful I am for my physics teacher, Ms. Schneider. As a student who has struggled in science classes in the past, Ms. Schneider’s enthusiasm and energy continue to amaze me each day I walk into fourth-period physics. In Ms. Schneider’s class, learning is fun.

Every day, I walk into her class, I am greeted with a smile and asked how I am doing. When I sit down at my desk, I look up at the board and see a PowerPoint or practice problem relating to the previous class’ content. Once the PowerPoint is done or everyone has finished solving the problem, Ms. Schneider goes through it and exclaims, “Isn’t this awesome stuff, guys?” Her passion for science makes me excited to learn.

Later in class when we have work time, I will go to Ms. Schneider to check how I did on a problem I was struggling with earlier, and once she verifies I got the problem correct, I get a fist bump with a “nice job dude!”

Ever since I was little, I thought school was a chore. I went to school, tried to get good grades, and went home. But when learning is fun and you feel like someone believes in you, learning is all the much easier, and to be frank, worth the time.
