“Good luck! I know you guys are going to do amazing.” These are the words biology and lab methods teacher Mrs. Lee says before handing out every test and quiz.

The simple words of encouragement display just how much Mrs. Lee cares about her students’ success. She invites students to ask questions and voice their confusions, and she always answers these questions thoughtfully and in a way that is easy to understand.  

We all know teachers who assign piles of homework and expect students to be able to complete everything with ease. Mrs. Lee is not like this. Mrs. Lee gives minimal homework, and even builds in time towards the end of class for students to start homework. She creates a calming environment in her classroom where students don’t have to be stressed about homework, quizzes, and tests. 

Mrs. Lee’s sweet nature and enthusiasm about the subjects she is teaching made me excited to walk into her classroom every first period. Before experiencing her class, I never really knew what I wanted my career to be in the future. Now, I am set on being a biologist. Mrs. Lee evoked a passion for science inside of me that never existed before. 

I wish I could have Mrs. Lee as my science instructor every year. She is an unforgettable teacher.
