Homework Time in Class

There’s 15 minutes left in your pre-calc class, and you’ve already finished the worksheet on factoring. There’s nothing left on the schedule today, but not enough time to start packing up already. Then you hear it.

“You guys can work on homework now, either from this class or another, I don’t care.”

The magic words. Now you don’t have to worry about finishing your still-incomplete annotations in time for english class.

The last minutes of every class, once the lesson is finished, can end up being some of the most important parts of our day. It’s either spent recharging, talking to friends about what the day has included and what’s ahead, or finishing up that final comment on Lord of the Flies.  Each option proves important to the rest of the day, and how we feel after that class. Those couple of valuable minutes can change the course of our days.

One of the most time-consuming parts of our lives is homework, so we end up pushing it back as far as possible. Teachers that let you use the last bits of class, or even schedule time to work on homework, make each of our lives a little easier, one worksheet completed at a time.
