2019 at Liberty

Haley Archer, Senior Writer

2019 was a year of growth, change, and highlights: the Sounders won the MLS Cup, Tesla released the Cybertruck, Burger King made a burger without burger, Kanye West went gospel, and a banana taped to a wall sold for $120,000 (and then got eaten.) This year, Lil Nas X released Old Town Road, scientists found water on Mars, and I closed the first half of my senior year surrounded by fantastic people and a wonderful school.

I am thankful for the events, people, and experiences of 2019. This holiday season, I have come to realize how much of a difference this year has made in my life. I am thankful for Liberty football games, Homecoming, cross country practices, and lunches spent with friends. I am thankful for the teachers who go the extra mile to help us learn and grow, and I appreciate the opportunity and excitement of college application season. As we move into 2020, the experiences of this year will continue to shape Liberty High and our lives, affecting who we are and who we will choose to become. Until that time, though, I am thankful I was able to spend 2019 at Liberty, and am looking forward to another amazing year.
