Swimming keeps me active, focused, and happy, and I’m so glad I’ve had this sport for as long as I have. I learned to swim as a baby when my family built a pool in my backyard for my dad’s swim school business, and I basically grew up in that pool. In a normal year, I swim for Liberty in the fall and Maple Hills in the summer—they are by far my favorite two seasons of the year. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to swim as much as I’d have liked this year because of the pandemic. Being a swimmer takes a lot of time management, effort, and responsibility. Because I have been swimming for the majority of my life, the sport has helped me stay level-headed, calm, and relaxed—traits that have 100% helped me stay positive during these unusual times.”
