Q: Why do you like journalism?
A: I like journalism because I like the community aspect; it’s a class that I know I can enjoy coming to after a long day of school. I also like getting to talk to people around our school and getting to share their stories with others.

A: I am a certified scuba diver.

Gabi Parrish (12)
Position: Editor-in-Chief
Q: Why Do You Like journalism?
A: I enjoy being a part of journalism because the class simulates what it’s like to have a career in this job field, which is a cool experience. The class also has a lot of great people who are fun to work with.
Q: What is one fun fact about yourself?
A: One time I found 17 four-leaf clovers in one weekend.
Likes: traveling, reading, chocolate, sports
Dislikes: talking on the phone, going to the grocery store, cold weather
Khanh Dao (12)
Position: Editor-in-Chief
Q: Why do you like journalism?
A: For me, being in journalism means surrounding myself with like-minded peers who are curious about the people and the events happening around them and who are eager to share what they have to say with the community. It’s also about surrounding myself with people who fight over cheesy bread on editors’ late nights and spend a significant amount of their time trying to come up with the best puns. I guess I’m a little biased when I say there’s no place like the J-lab, but it’s true.
Q: What is one fun fact about yourself?
A: I adore houseplants, and I name all the ones I have.
Likes: Coldplay, Grey’s Anatomy, and POG juice.
Dislikes: Pepperoni; I think it tastes like salt leather.
Kaitlyn Keyes (12)
Position: Editor-in-Chief
Q: Why do you like journalism?
A: I like journalism because I love to write and I love the people. It is a great way to be a part of the school and the classroom environment is unlike any other. It’s a class that I know will always bring a fun end to my day and a smile to my face.
Q: What is one fun fact about yourself?
A: I have written a full-length YA novel that is currently in the editorial phase.
Likes: Netflix, reading, writing, soccer, chocolate, football, old-timey video games
Dislikes: bananas, open doors, the feeling of dirty feet, yogurt
