Humans of Liberty: Ting Pan (11)

“I love traveling. I love the thrill of meeting new people, trying new foods, understanding new cultures, and exploring a foreign destination. I enjoy my life in Washington, but it’s such a small part of what the world has to offer. There are so many new people to meet, so many new places to see, and so many fascinating things to discover. Traveling keeps you on the edge constantly; you never know who you’re going to meet, or what stories you’ll hear, or what crazy memories you’ll create. Travel creates perspective and really opens our mind. It is hard to understand how different life is in another part of the world until you see it for yourself, as traveling is the greatest life education. In the future, I hope I’m all over the world. I plan on studying abroad in college in multiple different places. I’m not sure what I want to do for a living, but I know that travel will most likely be a part of it. I like to try new things and go to new places, and this separates me from others. I’ve made it my goal to travel to as many countries as I can. I don’t think everyone has that goal. I would really like to volunteer in Myanmar right now mainly because of the growing numbers of refugees due to ethnic cleansing, which not a lot of people have interest in.”
