Girls basketball aims to shoot high

Since the season has started, the Liberty girls basketball team has been working tirelessly, spurring their 4-0 win streak so far.

“We have won all of our games by at least twenty points, so I would say that our team is doing excellent,” senior Isabella Lamp said.

The team is hoping that this will allow them to accomplish the goals that they have set for this season.

“Our ultimate goal is to attend state, but it will depend on our performance in the league games and in the KingCo league. Being KingCo champions would be another goal,” Lamp said.

While the pandemic has not affected much of this season, there have been some differences compared to last year.

“We no longer have to wear masks while we are playing, only when we are on the bench, and we are not allowed to go to out-of-state tournaments as we used to over winter break,” Lamp said.

However, this has not stopped the great teamwork this team has displayed.

“It’s a great group of girls that we have,” Lamp said. “Our ability to collaborate and understand each other’s strengths helps our team out and makes playing so much more enjoyable.”
