The crowd was in awe. It had happened in the blink of an eye. Suddenly, cheers erupted from the stands. The first touchdown of the season. In just seven seconds!

This touchdown was scored by Liberty sophomore Jaxson Thoresen. Thoresen is no stranger to the highs and lows of football; he has years of playing experience. But September 3, 2021 will forever be an epic high for his high school athletics.

Since this notable seven-second touchdown, the name Jaxon Thoresen has become quite recognizable. His accomplishments not only uplift the fans, but encourage players on the field too.

“It was really cool to be a sophomore and be able to get out there and score the first touchdown of the season. It’s an awesome feeling to get the season started out right,” Thoresen said.

For Thoresen, hours of practice help him score touchdowns, but he also credits his family just as much.

“My brother, Jacob Thoresen, played on Liberty a few years ago. He’s always inspired me to get out on the field and share my love of football with friends and families,” Thoresen said. “Both my brothers and parents push me to be my best and work towards improvement.”

Through lots of hard work, passion, and the encouragement of others, Thoresen is working to become the best athlete he can be.

Regardless, the next time someone has a sudden craving for hot chocolate, or the urge to use the restroom during a Liberty football game, they should hurry back, for they may miss the next seven-second touchdown.
