After a 5-4 season, womens tennis culminated at the KingCo Tournament on May 14 at Mercer Island High School. The team sent nine out of its 12 varsity athletes to the tournament, where senior Jenny Adams placed second in singles and doubles team Sienna Rice (9) and Sadie Demme (11) placed sixth. Adams – who finished the regular season with a record of 9-0 and will be competing for Whitworth University after she graduates – went on to win two of her three matches at the 3A Sea-King District Tournament on May 20 and 21, qualifying for the State Tournament on May 30 and 31.

“I feel like I’ve grown mentally this season. I was able to come out with wins a lot easier than I would normally come out with and I felt really confident on the court,” Adams said. “Once I make it to State, I’d like to place in the top seven; that’s my ultimate goal.”
