Honors Physics students listen to Professor Jeffrey Wilkes give a presentation about neutrinos on their annual field trip to the University of Washington. Neutrinos are extremely difficult to detect because the small, subatomic particles have no charge and do not interact with matter. They can travel nearly the speed of light and pass through the entire earth without interacting with any other particle. On their fieldtrip, Mr. Buchli’s Honors Physics class learned about these particles, watched a planetarium show, and visited Dick’s Hamburgers for lunch.
