We’ve all had those days: your alarm clock went off late, you missed the bus, forgot you had a CRO due, tanked a test, and to top it all off, hadn’t even had time to make yourself coffee in the morning. But then, a random stranger, perhaps someone you’ve only seen at a glance, flashes you a small smile as you pass by each other in the hallway and says, “your hair looks good today.” Then the person continues walking, unaware of how they pretty much just made your day. Receiving any compliment feels pretty awesome. But to get a compliment from a random stranger–well, the unexpectedness makes it all that much better. So with the holiday season fast approaching, instead of buying a bunch of small gifts, perhaps just give the easiest and truly the most-appreciated gift to those around you. You can never know just how much someone else might need it.
