Bathroom passes set unfair restrictions
May 12, 2016
High school students are entrusted with many responsibilities: driving to school, getting a job, and sometimes even voting. But self-regulating their bathroom usage? Well that’s a ridiculous idea. Or at least, this is what it seems like teachers are thinking when they force students to use bathroom passes. Students should not be restricted to using the restroom just a few times a semester. Sorry, teachers, but using the bathroom is an unavoidable, natural part of being human. And, unless the class is full of robots, some allowances must be made to accommodate this. Furthermore, if students aren’t focusing on the lesson, it’s doubtful that making them to “hold it in” for 90 minutes will help. So please, stop treating us like toddlers or puppies that need house-training… we know how to use the bathroom.
