Curtain Call

On opening night of You Can’t Take It with You, Liberty High School’s fall play, the Patriot Players prepare for putting on the comedy for an audience for the first time. Opening night, which was on Friday, November 14, brought a medium-sized audience of 100 spectators. The actors prepared for the show by applying heavy-duty stage makeup, which involved penciled-in age lines for much of the cast. “On opening night, it almost felt like there wasn’t an audience because we couldn’t see them through the stage lights,” Anna Woldstad (10) said. “It was a lot of fun hearing the audience laugh at all the jokes we’ve been rehearsing.” Woldstad, who is participating in her first full-length play with Liberty, was cast as the Russian Grand Duchess.
