NHS Requirements Change Due to COVID-19

For returning and new Liberty Honor Society participants, requirements to be a part of the chapter have changed due to Covid-19.
“Before the pandemic, Liberty’s Honor Society hosted many service events, such as bellringing for the Salvation Army, blood drives, tree planting, badminton, spikeball tournaments, and other events with outside organizations,” chapter president Madhavi Vivek said.
“Members were required to attend at least five meetings in the library, gather two sponsored hours from some of our hosted events, pay a club fee of $10, and log a total of 30+ hours over the course of the school year.”
This year, students are able to keep their status by maintaining a 3.5 GPA without having to fulfill any community service requirements due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Also, students must attend six meetings via Zoom throughout the year and pay a $10 fee to maintain their status in the program.
