“Selfless, caring, and energetic.” Those are the words Henry Level used to describe Lisa Beck who has been teaching at Liberty for 14 years. With so many years here, she’s made a lot of good memories.
“My favorite memories at Liberty include the ten seasons I was an assistant cross country coach at Liberty. During my last season, in 2015, the girls team won the 2A State Championship title,” Beck said, “I love the sport of cross country, the psychology of running, but most of all, I deeply enjoy the students who are on the team.”
Beck has decided that the 2018 to 2019 school year will be her last at Liberty. What she’ll miss most is her fellow teachers and their classes.
“I’ll really miss my colleagues in the English Department who are awesomely talented. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning from them and collaborating with them,” Beck said
One of her students who had her for a coach and teacher shares his feelings about Beck.
“She is the kind of teacher that makes you feel invested in your education. She’ll give you the respect to learn as you see fit, and I am personally thankful to be afforded that experience,” senior Alex Hartford said.
She’ll be leaving Liberty to spend more time with her family, specifically to enjoy time with her 2 year old daughter Maddie. Her colleagues will miss her just as much as she will miss them.
“I wish her the best and hope she gets to enjoy reading children’s literature for a while and set aside the thick stuff and just enjoy those at home and being a mom,” Level said.
