On the weekend of Oct. 26, three Liberty students: seniors Sarah Edmonds and Cassie Cox and junior Jenny Wood went to Nashville, Tennessee to participate in Choir All Nationals.
“All Nationals is a big deal because it’s about 350 of the best singers throughout the country that get to come together and make music,” Cox said
In order to be nominated for All Nationals, a person must be selected from county, district, all state, and then if their audition tape is accepted, they become a contender for All Nationals.
Before the hard work however, the three took two days to tour and enjoy the city.
“Once we checked into the hotel we went straight to rehearsal where we met the director and immediately found out what the problem areas are and what we sound like as a group. Then, for the next few days we just had constant rehearsals,” said junior Jenny Wood.
The girls had rehearsals for 11 hours in one day. Their days in Nashville mainly consisted of eating, sleeping and singing.
In all of the rehearsals, eight songs were prepared and the girls had several performances throughout their trip.
“All of the rehearsals led to the concert on Wednesday morning. It was in front of 2,250 people and they fit all 350 of us in the choir on the risers and we sang our eight songs to all of these people, and they really enjoyed it,” said Edmonds.
