Doctor Strange surpassed my expectations. I was anticipating it to be just another movie that I would forget within hours of leaving, but when I walked out of the theater, I was stirring with excitement, replaying every scene in my head.
The movie follows the life of Dr. Stephen Strange, a skilled neurosurgeon who loses the use of his hands in a car accident. Strange seeks help from The Ancient One, a sorcerer with spiritual powers. He finds himself immersed into a world with other dimensions, and ends up fighting to save Earth from the Dark Dimension.
Before watching the movie, I had heard a lot of positive reviews from friends, but I still wasn’t sure I would like it. Doctor Strange is a Marvel movie, and in the past, I haven’t found many Marvel movies that spark my interest. Animation and special effects were used throughout the movie, but they didn’t take away from the realism of the movie- if anything, they added to it.
