Chvrches’ sophomore album is a strong follow-up to their debut and shows off the band’s established talent. Heartfelt vocals are layered over pulsing synths, creating catchy rhythms and choruses. Throughout the album, the trio never lets up on the energy. And that’s the only flaw – as great as the core music is, the album doesn’t vary much from the same pattern, with only one or two songs switching up the tempo and rhythm. Nevertheless, the band’s talent for creating catchy tunes is undeniable; and Every Eye Open makes for an engaging, fun listen.
